Ottawa Board of Trade Declares Support for the Senators Move to LeBreton
(Ottawa, November 15, 2022) – Today, Sueling Ching, President & CEO, Ottawa Board of Trade, released the following statement:
“The Ottawa Board of Trade thanks the NHL for its commitment to keep the Ottawa Senators in Ottawa and calls on business and community leaders and all residents of the national capital region to actively support a new arena at LeBreton.
Since its inception, we have prioritized the development of the LeBreton lands including an event centre as a significant cultural, social, and economic driver for many years to come. It is an example of world class city building that will attract international attention and enhance community pride. It will also benefit many sectors including entertainment, hospitality, housing, and transportation.
LeBreton, alongside other innovative infrastructure investments such as the ByWard Market Public Realm Plan and Lansdowne 2.0, is an important part of the Ottawa downtown revitalization plan which is a primary asset for both the visitor economy and talent attraction. A vibrant city core drives prosperity for the whole city with a ripple impact for every business, employee, and resident in our region.”
