OBoT Celebrates National Volunteer Week
Dear Ottawa Board of Trade Board Members,
We are celebrating National Volunteer Week in Canada. The theme for 2021, The Value of One, The Power of Many, reflects on the awe-inspiring acts of kindness by millions of volunteers working together towards a common purpose. This past year, we have seen people supporting family, friends, neighbours, colleagues and strangers through extraordinary times – people recognizing the value of caring and compassion; people recognizing the power of organizations and sectors working together; people standing up to systemic racism and sharing insights in the creation of a more just and equitable society.
#VolunteersBringChange - "The Value of One, The Power of Many”.
In the Board of Trade community, we continue to work with all of our members, partners and stakeholders to navigate these challenging times and to support each other so that we can once again thrive together on the other side of this pandemic. National Volunteer Week is an important moment for us to reflect upon and extend a huge thank you for your countless acts of selfless service which only become even more magnified during these extraordinary times. We are so deeply grateful. It would be hard to imagine where our community would be without the countless gracious acts of kindness, service, volunteerism and diversity of thought that you have each provided.
Your tireless dedication sustains and enriches our community. We also salute and appreciate your guidance, counsel, oversight and outstanding strategic and inclusive leadership in advancing the cause of business advocacy in our World Class City and the National Capital Region. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Ian Sherman, Chair, Board of Directors
