United Way and Ottawa restaurants kick off tastiest event of the fall

United Way East Ontario and 16 restaurants from across the region are partnering for the first annual Novemburger!

The restaurants, including Happy Days Burgers & Poutine, Coconut Lagoon, and G Burger, have created unique burgers for the month of November, with $2 from everyone sold going to support local communities in need through United Way.

Adding to the fun, each participating restaurant is competing for Top Novemburger of the Year, Most Novemburgers Sold, and the People’s Choice Award.

United Way’s team of Novemburger Ambassadors, including Ottawa Board of Trade Director Riaz Sidi, will be judging each of the platinum restaurants’ creations and encouraging others to join them on their burger journeys to create positive social change.

“We’re so excited for this first annual Novemburger campaign,” says Lorena Costa, Senior Manager, Strategic Partnerships, United Way East Ontario. “The best part about it is we get the chance to show support for the local business community while involving them in our mission to ensure the most vulnerable people in our communities can thrive.”

“Giving back means everything to us,” adds Amin Kazemi, Managing Partner at Edinburger. “Beechwood is a special place for our staff. This neighborhood is super welcoming and incredibly supportive. To be able to support the people in our community who allow our business to prosper, and in a fun way, is such an easy decision to make.”

United Way is encouraging everyone to join in this month-long celebration of flavour and community improvement, where every burger gives back.

Help uplift your neighbours—all while enjoying the best burgers the city’s local chefs have to offer!
